2026 Goals Week 9 of 53
Lenten Focus Day #12
Continuing with my…
Lenten Focus : Forty-Three Days of Dead Weight Excavation
43 straight days of 90-minute sessions : Daily discipline dissolves overwhelm!
Tuesday, Day #6:
Brought all the snow-day processed items to the storage unit.
Unfortunately a front-end loader was busy relocating about 20 inches of snow from the lot, so I tactically retreated for a few hours and returned just as they were finishing.
Worked inside the unit and started noticing something encouraging… actual progress.
Nice.
Wednesday, Day #7:
Sales… and more grind.
The sales were nice. The packing, less glamorous.
But! It’s part of the journey. Tape, labels, boxes, repeat. All is well.
Thursday, Day #8:
Storage unit session, followed by packing sale items for the second day in a row.
Two days of sales does not make a trend… but it is where trends start.
Sooo, is the market responding because dormant inventory is finally being listed? Or because dormant inventory is being listed for pennies?
Either way, something appears to be waking up.
Friday, Day #9:
Another day with sales trickling in.
I’m not declaring a financial empire, but watching this old “dead weight” inventory slowly activate is oddly satisfying.
Need to build homemade contraption for photographing hanging items at the unit.
Not purchasing a clothes rack.. the plan is simple: let the inventory pay for the upgrades… shelves, racks, the works.
Though, I made one purchase .. annoying .. the Craigslist Desk Blip.
Saturday, Day #10:
Bonus discovery.
While clearing space for the new-to-me Craigslist desk, I uncovered a forgotten box of office supplies. It felt like finding buried treasure… if the pirates had stocked up at Staples.
Sunday, Day #11:
The archaeological dig continues.
Today’s discoveries: a brand-new bottle of my favorite moisturizer, hair conditioner, a giant jug of laundry detergent, and other assorted personal goodies I apparently hid among the resale inventory months ago.
Unexpected wins.
There’s still so much to go through… but quietly, I’m starting to enjoy this daily focus. Not sure if I want to admit that outloud – let’s keep that between us.
Monday, Day #12:
Organizing items, listing items, paperwork.
The system is starting to be visible.
Though, the desk is still unassembled… I’m still pretending it doesn’t exist.
Nothing dramatic this week… just the slow, methodical work of turning piles into progress.
Okay, off to get more done.
Enjoy a lovely week!
